When Sir Francis Drake described this region as “the fairest cape in all the world” he didn’t know what riches and splendors lay beyond the spectacular mountains he could see from his vessel. The Western Cape is a year-round holiday destination to which more than four million visitors flock every year. One of the splendors that wasn’t there in Drake’s day is a new Cape country hotel , the de Noordhoek Hotel. This first class establishment can be found nestled in the heart of the Noordhoek Farm Village, a picturesque collection of craft and souvenir stalls, restaurants and pubs. Accommodation at the de Noordhoek Hotel is excellent – there are twenty standard double or twin bedded rooms that are all tastefully decorated and superbly comfortable, with crisp, white linen sheets. This fine Cape country hotel was thoughtfully designed and is totally environmentally friendly in every aspect, even the hot water is solar heated. Four of the rooms are completely accessible by wheelchair and their bathrooms have special wheelchair-friendly features, and eight other rooms have interleading doors making them ideal for families of large parties.
This unique Cape country hotel is located in a picturesque valley beneath the Silvermine Mountain and is ideally placed for both the West and East coasts of the Cape Peninsula. Just to the North is the stunning Chapman’s Peak Drive, to the West is Long Beach, and a few minutes drive to the East is the village of Fish Hoek with its bayside restaurants. There is plenty to do in the Cape Peninsula, and everything is within thirty minutes drive of this country hotel . Whether you want to spend your time on adventure sports or on a quiet walk on the beach, the De Noordhoek Hotel is the place to be.
